Sadiq Merchant opened Amoret in Hammersmith in 2016, then brought roasting in-house at the Notting Hill shop, where a Giesen W6 sits behind the counter. Only Arabica graded 83 points or higher on SCA protocols goes in the roaster, including Ethiopian Worka Wuri and Indonesian Mount Koerintji.
The shop sits behind a dark green Victorian shopfront on Pembridge Road, with an illustrated mural of cats and a winged serpent across the first floor above it. Inside, an L-shaped counter runs along the back wall, and a stairway at the rear leads to a small upstairs room with sash windows over the street.
