Edwin and Magda Harrison opened the school in Ealing Broadway in 2015, inspired by a year in Uganda. In 2024 it moved into the former scuba diving centre that houses their Curious Roo roastery, which supplies every course. Andy Prosser, a Q Instructor, has taught in Italy, the Netherlands, and East Africa.
The café fills a long industrial unit on Power Road, where communal tables run past the espresso bar to a cupping bench in the roastery.

Operates Curious Roo Coffee Roasters, originally established 2013-2023 at British Grove with Diedrich IR-12 roaster. Relocated 2024 to renovated former scuba diving facility in Gunnersbury with Loring and Diedrich roasters. Continues sustainable sourcing from Uganda.
