Tonia George, with Nick and Emma Scott, opened the café in 2009, and Victoria and Gili took it over in May 2019. Victoria had started Lola's Cupcakes in 2006.
The café is on Perrin's Court, a cobbled pedestrian passage strung with lights, behind a dark brown arched shopfront with a dark awning. The espresso counter sits just inside the front window, and a large Union Jack painting hangs on a white wall over the tables. Seating runs along the pavement on both sides of the door, under patio heaters.
