London Reclaimed, the charity behind it, was established in 2012 and runs paid traineeships for 16-to-25-year-olds from South East London facing barriers to work. Assembly Coffee of Brixton supplies the single-origin espresso, with rotating guest filters.
The shop is a corner site on Camberwell Church Street, with floor-to-ceiling plywood shelving of wine and deli goods between the coffee counter and a second room, and stairs down to more seating. Georgian sash windows look onto a brick yard at the back, and a bench stands on the pavement out front.
