Karen and Jamie Hodson started the company in Fitzroy, New Plymouth. James and Lizzie Gurr launched the London side, opening on Leonard Street in Shoreditch in March 2012, and Has Bean founder Steve Leighton became Director of Coffee after the 2018 acquisition.
Single origins roast at Leonard Street and rotate monthly, while blends roast at the Stafford roastery. Brothers is the milk blend and Empire the espresso. Coffee bags carry 70% post-consumer recycled content.
