Brûlé, who also founded Wallpaper* magazine, opened on Chiltern Street in April 2013. Allpress Espresso runs the bar alongside pastries from Swedish bakery Fabrique and cakes by Japanese chef Masayuki Hara.
Past a dark timber-slatted counter, a back room is hung with framed photographs of Monocle's other shopfronts around the world. Pavement tables sit out front, under a black-and-white striped awning.
