Shipping-container coffee bar in Canary Wharf, craft beer by evening.

Brighton-based founders Ross Blake and Alice Duvernois opened the first permanent site in April 2017, after conceiving 640 East as a sustainable pop-up bar. Coffee comes from roasters in London and Europe, alongside craft beer from Five Points, DEYA, and Pillars.

The brand has since spread to Bethnal Green, Hayes, Bristol, and Brighton.

At this shop

At Montgomery Square, a service hatch is cut into a living green wall, with a statue of a horse on a stone plinth beside it. A black-framed glass pergola strung with festoon lighting shelters the courtyard, and a split-flap board over the counter spells out a coffee quote letter by letter.
