Kyoto coffee brand with a Kona farm, first opened in Hong Kong.

Kenneth Shoji opened the first shop in Discovery Bay in 2013, then chose Kyoto over his native Tokyo for the Higashiyama flagship the following year.

Beans are roasted in store, and the Broadway Market shop, one of four in London, roasts to order on a Tornado King small-batch roaster. Espresso comes from custom Slayer machines built in Seattle.

At this shop

On King Street in Covent Garden, the shop sits behind a Georgian shopfront, with a black door alongside the glazed entrance onto the pedestrianised street. Inside, a sloped ceiling runs the length of the counter along an exposed brick wall, and one table by the door is the only seat in the shop.
