British Yemeni coffee company that discovered Yemenia, a mother population of arabica.

Faris Sheibani's grandfather opened a tea and coffee shop in Yemen, and after the 2015 conflict Sheibani left his job to work with farmers directly, founding Qima Coffee in 2016. Over 7,000 smallholders now supply the network, and each cup sold funds a coffee seedling for a farmer.

The two cafés, in Fitzrovia and Covent Garden, serve beans sourced directly through Qima and roasted in-house. Both won a Good Food Award Blue Ribbon for 2025/26.

At this shop

Qima Cafe sits in a brick building on New Row, with metal tables on the pavement under a dark awning. Inside, concentric bands of lit plaster curve across the ceiling above the counter.
