Bloomsbury-born London group, among the first for batch brew and cuppings.

Roger Hart, a former trainee nurse, and Jack Hesketh, a UCL biologist working on his PhD, opened the first shop in October 2010. They were among the first London cafés to serve cold brew, matcha and guest espresso.

Square Mile Coffee Roasters is the main roaster. Four shops now trade: Store Street, Tavistock Place, Hammersmith, and Bishopsgate, which opened in January 2022.

At this shop

The shop is at 54 Tavistock Place behind a dark grey glazed front, with tables out on the pavement. Inside, a plywood counter with a glass pastry case runs down the side of a long, white-panelled room, and an opening at the back leads to a second room with a wooden floor.
