The original Penny Drop began as a Melbourne pop-up in 2015, and this London sister opened in June 2017. Two espressos run side by side, one suited to milk drinks and one to drinking on its own. Roasters rotate between Ground Coffee Society, Round Hill, Obadiah, Curve, Kiss the Hippo, and Morgon from Gothenburg.
The shop wraps around the corner of Tottenham Street and Whitfield Street, with full-height glazing on both sides and a timber bench on the pavement outside. The bar runs along the back wall in front of a cork-and-terrazzo backsplash, with bar-height seats along the window.
