Tom Sobey started Origin in 2004, after his father's time as a Bewley's franchisee and his own stint at a Gold Coast coffee company. Two Loring Smart roasters in Porthleven use 80% less fuel than conventional machines and roast over a tonne a day.
Head of Coffee Freda Yuan won the UK Cup Tasters Championship in 2017, 2018, and 2020. Origin took Europe's Best Speciality Coffee Roaster at the Allegra Awards.
