Irish couple's Brixton cafes, the first hand-built from a derelict estate agents.

Ken Nally, an industrial designer from Wicklow, and Ciara O'Shea, a makeup artist from Tipperary, had lived across the road for 20 years before they opened in August 2014. They married two weeks later.

From 2017 to 2020 a 1978 Ford Transit served Windrush Square commuters. The second cafe opened on Coldharbour Lane in 2022. Alchemy and Square Mile supply the coffee.

At this shop

On Coldharbour Lane in Brixton, the shop looks out across the street at a row of black-and-white film-star portraits set into arched niches along a red-brick wall. Inside, a bakery case sits by the door, with a wire shelving unit of bagged sourdough and pastries behind the dark timber counter, and a timber bench under the front window.
