Notting Hill coffee, bakery and bagel group inspired by Japanese minimalism.

Publisher Julian Victoria and Jacob Van Nieuwkoop opened Kuro Coffee in 2021 in an empty two-floor building. The name is the Japanese word for black.

The bakery followed in a former magazine kiosk, and the Kuro Eatery became Kuro Bagels in 2025. That November the founders opened a fourth site inside Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

At this shop

The shop sits behind French doors on Hillgate Street in Notting Hill, with 'KURO' lettered above the entrance and 'BAGELS' in the window. Inside, a poured-concrete counter carved with the shop's name runs along the back wall, and a single chair stands by the window.
