Notting Hill coffee, bakery and bagel group inspired by Japanese minimalism.

Publisher Julian Victoria and Jacob Van Nieuwkoop opened Kuro Coffee in 2021 in an empty two-floor building. The name is the Japanese word for black.

The bakery followed in a former magazine kiosk, and the Kuro Eatery became Kuro Bagels in 2025. That November the founders opened a fourth site inside Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge.

At this shop

On Notting Hill Gate, the shopfront wraps around a curved glass corner instead of sitting flat, with a wooden bench fixed beneath the black KURO BAKERY sign. Inside, there's no seating: a tiered pastry case runs the length of the narrow room, with the production area visible through to the back.
