South London coffee bars named for the running track's outside lane.

George Rendall left management consulting to open a design-led espresso bar next to East Dulwich station in summer 2019, aiming to slow people down. Cafes now trade in Clapham Common, Lavender Hill, Wandsworth, and Tooting Bec.

The menu carries ceremonial matcha from Kyushu, Japan, and no syrups or flavoured cold foams.

At this shop

On Lavender Hill, the white-painted shopfront wraps the corner of a brick Victorian building, with 'Take the outside lane' painted above the window. Inside, a poured-plaster counter with a waterfall edge runs the length of the room, and ribbed cylindrical tables of different heights lead back to an oval mirror on the end wall.
