Mat Appleton, formerly of Soho House, and artist Jess Blackstone opened the first café in her old studio on Mountgrove Road in 2014, running it as a café by day and a restaurant by night. Cafés now stand in Highbury, Finsbury Park, Clapton and Clissold Park, with coffee from Scenery Coffee Roasters.

Adam Morley is Head of Bread at the Blackstock Road bakery. Saltine, their restaurant on Highbury Park, serves an evening menu by Phil Wood, formerly of St John Marylebone.

At this shop

On Chatsworth Road in Lower Clapton, two wooden bench tables sit out on the pavement in front of a black-painted shopfront lettered 'Fink's Chats'. Inside, coral pink covers every surface, from the walls and ceiling to the ribbed front of the counter.
