London café group with its own bakery, bread delivered daily by bike.

Mat Appleton, formerly of Soho House, and artist Jess Blackstone opened the first café in her old studio on Mountgrove Road in 2014, running it as a café by day and a restaurant by night. Cafés now stand in Highbury, Finsbury Park, Clapton and Clissold Park, with coffee from Scenery Coffee Roasters.

Adam Morley is Head of Bread at the Blackstock Road bakery. Saltine, their restaurant on Highbury Park, serves an evening menu by Phil Wood, formerly of St John Marylebone.

At this shop

The shop sits on Gillespie Road in Finsbury Park, one of a row of Victorian terraces, with the espresso counter set just inside the front window. Opposite, a wall of shelving stocked like a small grocery runs the length of the room instead of tables, and there's no seating: it's takeaway only.
