London café group with its own bakery, bread delivered daily by bike.

Mat Appleton, formerly of Soho House, and artist Jess Blackstone opened the first café in her old studio on Mountgrove Road in 2014, running it as a café by day and a restaurant by night. Cafés now stand in Highbury, Finsbury Park, Clapton and Clissold Park, with coffee from Scenery Coffee Roasters.

Adam Morley is Head of Bread at the Blackstock Road bakery. Saltine, their restaurant on Highbury Park, serves an evening menu by Phil Wood, formerly of St John Marylebone.

At this shop

The shop occupies a free-standing Victorian pump house in the middle of Clissold Park, open through a hatch window on one wall and a door on another, with no seating inside. Behind the counter, sage-green paint covers the brick on one side, with exposed yellow brick and timber panelling on the other.
