London café group with its own bakery, bread delivered daily by bike.

Mat Appleton, formerly of Soho House, and artist Jess Blackstone opened the first café in her old studio on Mountgrove Road in 2014, running it as a café by day and a restaurant by night. Cafés now stand in Highbury, Finsbury Park, Clapton and Clissold Park, with coffee from Scenery Coffee Roasters.

Adam Morley is Head of Bread at the Blackstock Road bakery. Saltine, their restaurant on Highbury Park, serves an evening menu by Phil Wood, formerly of St John Marylebone.

At this shop

The corner shopfront opens onto Mountgrove Road, with benches and stools out on the pavement. Inside, wine bottles and pantry jars fill open shelves beside the till, and hexagonal tile covers the wall behind the counter. A staircase by the counter leads downstairs.
