London cafe group with its own roastery, UK's first home-compostable coffee pods.

Kaz James of the Bodyrockers and David Abrahamovitch turned David's father's old mobile phone store in Shoreditch into the first Grind in 2011. It ran as a cafe by day and a cocktail bar by night, with a recording studio upstairs.

The Shoreditch roastery followed in 2016, and by 2021 the group ran fourteen London locations.

At this shop

Grind sits at ground level on Broadgate Circle, the round plaza between the Broadgate office buildings by Liverpool Street station. Its terrace runs out across the paving from a glazed front, under a stand of trees.
