London cafe group with its own roastery, UK's first home-compostable coffee pods.

Kaz James of the Bodyrockers and David Abrahamovitch turned David's father's old mobile phone store in Shoreditch into the first Grind in 2011. It ran as a cafe by day and a cocktail bar by night, with a recording studio upstairs.

The Shoreditch roastery followed in 2016, and by 2021 the group ran fourteen London locations.

At this shop

The café sits at street level on the National Theatre's South Bank terrace, its glazed front set under the building's exposed concrete ceiling. Inside, a raised window bar looks out across the terrace and trees, where tables run along the front.
