Max Dubiel and Ted Rosner met at St Andrews in 2008, when Max needed a skipper for a sailing trip. Later the Ministry of Justice asked them to set up a roastery in a prison. Roasting now happens inside HMP The Mount, with barista academies at HMP Pentonville and HMP High Down.
Participants make up 32% of shop staff, and 91% keep their jobs for 90 days. Both founders received Points of Light awards.
